Donate to Support Food Education

Through May 31, 2026: Donors who contribute $30 or more will be entered into a giveaway for two tickets to Jack Johnson’s concert on July 12 at Mystic Lake Amphitheatre. Plus, double your donation, thanks to the Johnson Ohana Foundation.

Last year, we received the photo above (left) of a student with her full-grown cucumber plant. She planted the seeds and grew them into a seedling in our classroom lessons, then transplanted it at home and cared for it over the summer.

It’s stories like this one that show why we do what we do. 2026 is the 30th Anniversary of our organization’s beginning – 30 years of shifting eating habits, expanding taste buds, and fostering positive relationships with food and the earth. When students are able to explore healthy food and gardening in interactive ways, it gets them excited about healthful eating and gardening.

Since SNAP-Ed funding was cut, we are one of the last food education groups in the Twin Cities. At the same time, we’ve had an unprecedented number of teaching requests this spring, leading us to bring on a fourth educator seasonally. We need your help to continue this work for another 30 years to come.

As we begin our urban gardening unit, your donation supports our lessons:

  • $30 covers real honeycomb for 150 students to taste
  • $100 covers seed-starting supplies for 10 classes
  • $250 covers fees for two classes that otherwise would be unable to access our lessons
  • $500 covers a farmer’s stipend for hosting a field trip

Through May 31, 2026: Thanks to a partnership with musician and activist Jack Johnson, up to $2,500 in donations will be matched. Additionally through the month of May, anyone who donates $30 or more will be entered into a giveaway for two tickets to Jack Johnson’s concert on July 12 at the Mystic Lake Amphitheatre.
